Posted on October 21, 2005 by Richard Bartholomew

Latest news from the Israeli religious right, via Arutz Sheva:
On Thursday night, Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri said, “Jews must come to the land of Israel to receive our righteous Mashiach (Messiah), who has begun his influence and will reveal himself in the future.”

…During the afternoon Mincha prayer on Yom Kippur, the Kabbalist scholar surprised his students and fellow worshippers with secrets relating to the coming of the Mashiach…Only after some 45 minutes, the Rabbi raised his head and looked around the room at the students and worshippers who were gathered at his Nachalat Yitzhak Yeshiva, in the Bucharim neighborhood of Jerusalem. With a broad smile on his face familiar to his students when he has a revelation, he declared, “With the help of G-d, the soul of the Mashiach [i.e. "Messiah"] has attached itself to a person in Israel”.

Kaduri is 104 years old, and his esoteric mysticism is in no way otherworldly: back in 1996 he was part of the election campaign for the religious Shas party, blessing magical amulets ('Dit is niet Bijbels maar satanisme magie is door YHVH verboden') for that purpose; he later split with Shas to create Ahavat Yisrael. But he has wider appeal: the Likud foreign minister Silvan Shalom recently presented Prince Charles with one of the Rabbi’s amulets as a wedding present. Kaduri is also a supporter of the unofficial “Sanhedrin” which was recently established by Israeli rightists, ('Dit is ook niet wat YHVH van plan is dus ook duivels') and he shares their detestation of democracy, as a quote in this document shows:

“The revolution has begun”, exclaimed the overwhelmed hundred-year-old kabbalistic rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri. “We want a monarchic regime in place of the current fascist regime which only pretends to be democratic. And we want the Temple of Jerusalem”. Kaduri has also stated that Sharon will be the final prime minister. ('Dit zou wel kunnen kloppen')

(Some may be shocked by the use of the word “fascist”, but in fact rightist Israelis throw Nazi epithets around quite casually. While I was in Jerusalem in 1993-4, everywhere I looked there were posters with Yitzhak Rabin’s head superimposed on a Nazi uniform).

The Arutz Sheva report also gives Kaduri’s timetable for the Messiah’s appearance, based on his interpretations of the writings of a mystic known as the Vilna Gaon:

On September 24, 2001, Channel One Israel TV broadcast an item on what Torah and other mystics were saying in the week of the World Trade Center attack. Speaking from the room adjacent to where Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri receives visitors, Arutz Sheva Hebrew radio showhost Yehoshua Meiri, a close confident of the Kabbalist, explained to the cameras Rabbi Kaduri’s understanding of the events based on the calculations of the Vilna Gaon: “On Hashanah Rabba, the actual war of Gog and Magog will commence and will last for some seven years,” said Meiri.

Precise to the minute, 13 days later on October 7th as the sun was setting and the Jewish holiday of Hoshana Rabba was ushered in, US and British forces began an aerial bombing campaign targeting Taliban forces and Al-Qaida.

So, apparently, while the person who will be the Messiah is around at this moment, he will not actually become the Messiah until two more years have passed. But who will the “Messiah” be? Most likely, Kaduri is backing Rabbi Yosef Dayan, who claims to be the legitimate King of Israel, and who recently uttered a death curse against Sharon. But if the Messiah must be Sharon’s successor, perhaps Kaduri (pictured here) has a more likely candidate in mind…?

In a meeting in 1990 with Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Rebbe of Lubavitch, many words of blessing were spoken to (Rabbi)Kaduri. Among the words spoken by the Lubavitcher Rebbe was the blessing that Kaduri would not pass from this world until he met the Messiah. This came to pass in a mystical vision on 9 Cheshvan 5764 (4 November 2003) when Kaduri spoke with the Messiah; during this encounter, the Messiah revealed His name to Kaduri. Kaduri later noted to his disciples that the revealed name of the Messiah was hidden among his writings.

Kaduri's disciples came across a note written by Kaduri in which was encrypted the name of the Messiah. This note contained instructions saying that it was not to be opened until a year after Kaduri's passing. After a year passed, Kaduri's disciples opened the note and discovered the name the Messiah revealed to Kaduri:
Yehoshua (the Hebrew form of the Aramaic Yeshua). Here is an English translation of the note done by an Orthodox Rabbi:

Regarding the acronym of Moshiach. The masses will themselves arise and verify that his words and his teachings can stand. With my signature in the Month of Mercy (Elul - Edit.) 5765, Yitzchak Kaduri.

The initial Hebrew letters of the phrase "The masses will themselves arise and verify that his words and his teachings can stand" spell out
Yehoshua, Yeshua, or Jesus in English.

Rabbi Kaduri onthult Naam van de Messias

Rabbi Reveals Name of the Messiah
Shortly before he died, one of Israel's most prominent rabbis wrote the name of the Messiah on a small note which he requested would remain sealed until now. When the note was opened, it revealed what many have known for centuries: Yehoshua, or Yeshua (Jesus), is the Messiah.

A few months before he died, one of the nation’s most prominent rabbis, Yitzhak Kaduri, supposedly wrote the name of the Messiah on a small note which he requested would remain sealed until now. When the note was unsealed, it revealed what many have known for centuries: Yehoshua, or Yeshua (Jesus), is the Messiah.
With the biblical name of Jesus, the Rabbi and kabbalist described the Messiah using six words and hinting that the initial letters form the name of the Messiah.

The secret note said:
Concerning the letter abbreviation of the Messiah’s name, He will lift the people and prove that his word and law are valid.
This I have signed in the month of mercy,
Yitzhak Kaduri

The Hebrew sentence (translated above in bold) with the hidden name of the Messiah reads: Yarim Ha’Am Veyokhiakh Shedvaro Vetorato Omdim
The initials spell the Hebrew name of Jesus, Yehoshua. Yehoshua and Yeshua are e ectively the same name, derived from the same Hebrew root of the word “salvation” as documented in Zechariah 6:11 and Ezra 3:2.

The same priest writes in Ezra, “Yeshua son of Yozadak” while writing in Zechariah “Yehoshua son of Yohozadak.”

The priest adds the holy abbreviation of God’s name, ho, in the father’s name Yozadak and in the name Yeshua.
With one of Israel’s most prominent rabbis indicating the name of the Messiah is Yeshua, it is understandable why his last wish was to wait one year after his death before revealing what he wrote.
When the name of Yehoshua appeared in Kaduri’s message, ultra-Orthodox Jews from his Nahalat Yitzhak Yeshiva (seminary) in Jerusalem argued that their master did not leave the exact solution for decoding the Messiah’s name.
The revelation received scant coverage in the Israeli media. Only the Hebrew websites News First Class (Nfc) and Kaduri.net mentioned the Messiah note, insisting it was authentic.

The Hebrew daily Ma'ariv ran a story on the note but described it as a forgery.

Jewish readers responded on the websites' forums with mixed feelings: “So this means Rabbi Kaduri was a Christian?” and “The Christians are dancing and celebrating,” were among the comments.
Israel Today spoke to two of Kaduri’s followers in Jerusalem who admitted that the note was authentic, but confusing for his followers as well. “We have no idea how the Rabbi got to this name of the Messiah,” one of them said.
Yet others completely deny any possibility that the note is authentic. Kaduri’s son, Rabbi David Kaduri, said that at the time the note was written (September 2005), his father’s physical condition made it impossible for him to write.

KADURI'S PORTRAYAL OF THE MESSIAH
A few months before Kaduri died at the age of 108, he surprised his followers when he told them that he met the Messiah.
Kaduri gave a message in his synagogue on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, teaching how to recognize the Messiah.
He also mentioned that the Messiah would appear to Israel after Ariel Sharon’s death.
(The former prime minister is still in a coma after suffering a massive stroke more than a year ago.)

Other rabbis predict the same, including Rabbi Haim Cohen, kabbalist Nir Ben Artzi and the wife of Rabbi Haim Kneiveskzy.
Kaduri’s grandson, Rabbi Yosef Kaduri, said his grandfather spoke many times during his last days about the coming of the Messiah and redemption through the Messiah.
His spiritual portrayals of the Messiah—reminiscent of New Testament accounts—were published on the websites Kaduri.net and Nfc:
“It is hard for many good people in society to understand the person of the Messiah. The leadership and order of a Messiah of flesh and blood is hard to accept for many in the nation. As leader, the Messiah will not hold any office, but will be among the people and use the media to communicate. His reign will be pure and without personal or political desire. During his dominion, only righteousness and truth will reign.

“Will all believe in the Messiah right away? No, in the beginning some of us will believe in him and some not. It will be easier for non-religious people to follow the Messiah than for Orthodox people.
“The revelation of the Messiah will be fulilled in two stages: First, he will actively confirm his position as Messiah without knowing himself that he is the Messiah. Then he will reveal himself to some Jews, not necessarily to wise Torah scholars. It can be even simple people. Only then he will reveal himself to the whole nation. The people will wonder and say: ‘What, that’s the Messiah?’ Many have known his name but have not believed that he is the Messiah.”

"Before the world of truth can come, the world of lies must disappear" - Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Kook

FAREWELL TO A 'TSADIK'
Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri was known for his photographic memory and his memorization of the Bible, the Talmud, Rashi and other Jewish writings. He knew Jewish sages and celebrities of the last century and rabbis who lived in the Holy Land and kept the faith alive before the State of Israel was born.
Kaduri was not only highly esteemed because of his age of 108. He was charismatic and wise, and chief rabbis looked up to him as a Tsadik, a righteous man or saint. He would give advice and blessings to everyone who asked. Thousands visited him to ask for counsel or healing. His followers speak of many miracles and his students say that he predicted many disasters.
When he died, more than 200,000 people joined the funeral procession on the streets of Jerusalem to pay their respects as he was taken to his final resting place.
“When he comes, the Messiah will rescue Jerusalem from foreign religions that want to rule the city,” Kaduri once said. “They will not succeed for they will fight against one another.”

THE RABBI'S FOLLOWERS REACT
In an interview with Israel Today, Rabbi David Kaduri, the 80-year-old son of the late Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri, denied that his father left a note with the name Yeshua just before he died.
“It’s not his writing,” he said when we showed him a copy of the note.
During a nighttime meeting in the Nahalat Yitzhak Yeshiva in Jerusalem, books with the elder Kaduri’s handwriting from 80 years ago were presented to us in an attempt to prove that the Messiah note was not authentic.
When we told Rabbi Kaduri that his father’s official website (www.kaduri.net) had mentioned the Messiah note, he was shocked. “Oh no! That’s blasphemy. The people could understand that my father pointed to him [the Messiah of the Christians].”
David Kaduri confirmed, however, that in his last year, his father had talked and dreamed almost exclusively about the Messiah and his coming. “My father has met the Messiah in a vision,” he said, “and told us that he would come soon.”
Israel Today was given access to many of the rabbi's manuscripts, written in his own hand for the exclusive use of his students. Most striking were the cross-like symbols painted by Kaduri all over the pages. In the Jewish tradition, one does not use crosses. In fact, even the use of a plus sign is discouraged because it might be mistaken for a cross.
But there they were, scribbled in the rabbi's own hand. When we asked what those symbols meant, Rabbi David Kaduri said they were “signs of the angel." Pressed further about the meaning of the “signs of the angel," he said he had no idea. Rabbi David Kaduri went on to explain that only his father had had a spiritual relationship with God and had met the Messiah in his dreams.
Orthodox Jews around the Nahalat Yitzhak Yeshiva told Israel Today a few weeks later that the story about the secret note of Rabbi Kaduri should never have come out, and that it had damaged the name the revered old sage.

Ariel Sharon undergoes brain scan
Hospital officials say procedure was previously scheduled
January 25, 2013, 11:37 am

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli hospital officials say a comatose former prime minister has undergone a special brain imaging scan.

Inbar Gutter, spokeswoman for Soroka Hospital in Beersheba, said Friday that former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was transferred to the hospital the previous night for the scan.

After a few hours, he was returned to Tel Hashomer Hospital in central Israel, where he is being cared for, hospital spokesman Amir Marom said. Officials said the scan was previously scheduled but would not comment on the results.

Israeli media report the scan seeks to determine if Sharon’s condition can be improved. Hospital officials would not comment on that claim.

Sharon, 84, led Israel from 2001 until suffering a stroke in 2006. Since then, he has been in a vegetative state, connected to a respirator.

Psalm 22
16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me:
they pierced my hands and my feet.
17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

Psalmen 22

Jesaja 17

10 Want gij hebt den God uws heils vergeten, en niet gedacht aan den Rotssteen uwer sterkte; daarom zult gij wel liefelijke planten planten, en gij zult hem met uitlandse ranken bezetten;

14 Gelijk als velen zich over U ontzet hebben, alzo verdorven was Zijn gelaat, meer dan van iemand, en Zijn gedaante, meer dan van andere mensenkinderen;

Pope Francis Calls Ecuador to Persevere in Its Catholic Identity (1616)

Speaking Sunday of Ecuador’s Catholic heritage, the Pope cited the saints who have been produced by the country.

QUITO, Ecuador — Landing in Ecuador on Sunday afternoon, Pope Francis began his three-nation visit to Latin America by stressing the Gospel’s role in fostering respect, dialogue and care for the vulnerable, while praising the nation’s centuries-old Catholic heritage.

“We can find in the Gospel a key to meeting contemporary challenges, respecting differences, fostering dialogue and full participation, so that the growth in progress and development already registered will ensure a better future for everyone, with particular concern for the most vulnerable of our brothers and sisters.”

“For centuries, that faith has shaped the identity of this people and borne much good fruit,” he added.

Speaking of Ecuador’s Catholic heritage, the Pope cited the saints who have been produced by the country, such as St. Mariana de Jesus, St. Miguel Febres and St. Narcisa de Jesús, as well as Blessed Mercedes de Jesús Molina, beatified in 1985 during St. John Paul II’s visit.

“These, and others like them, lived their faith with intensity and enthusiasm, and by their works of mercy, they contributed in a variety of ways to improving the Ecuadorian society of their day.”

Pope Francis made these remarks during a welcoming ceremony at Ecuador’s Quito International airport shortly after his arrival. He spoke to a delegation that included Ecuador’s president, Rafael Correa, government authorities and his fellow bishops.

The Pope told the delegation that his reason for coming to Ecuador was to be “a witness of God’s mercy and of faith in Jesus Christ.”

Ecuador is the first stop in Pope Francis’ visit to the continent of his birth, which is taking place July 5-13. The journey will also include stops in Bolivia and Paraguay.

Having reflected on the nation’s Catholic heritage, the Pope noted the Christian significance of Ecuador being home to the peak “closest to the sun,”  Chimborazo, the point on Earth nearest to outer space.

We Christians identify Christ with the sun, and the moon with the Church, the community of the faithful. No one, save Jesus Christ, possesses his or her own light.”

“May the coming days make all of us ever more clearly aware of how close is the Son, which ‘dawns upon us from on high.’ May each of us be a true reflection of his light and his love.”

Pope Francis expressed his desire “to embrace all of Ecuador,” adding: “May you never lose the ability to protect what is small and simple, to care for your children and your elderly, to have confidence in the young and to be constantly struck by the nobility of your people and the singular beauty of your country.”

The Pope concluded his address by appealing to “the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to which Ecuador has been consecrated.”

Although President Cerrea was present at the welcoming ceremony, the Pope — digressing from the custom — will not officially meet with the Ecuadorean leader until after his Monday visit to the sanctuary in Guayaquil, followed by lunch with the Jesuit community at the Colegio Javier.

Pope Francis Calls for New World Order—Again

Pope Francis
Pope Francis says sharing resources should be the new world order. (Reuters)

Join us on our new podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

We have an obligation, says Pope Francis, to take care of those around us. And to do that, we have to steward our resources. It should be the new world order.

Francis made the comments during his South America tour, according to the Associated Press.

"As stewards of these riches which we have received, we have an obligation toward society as a whole and toward future generations," he told reporters. "We cannot bequeath this heritage to them without proper care for the environment, without a sense of gratuitousness born of our contemplation of the created world."

This isn't the first time the Pope has called for a focus on sharing resources, and in doing so, he's gained many critics.

Rush Limbaugh has called the Pope's suggestions "pure Marxism," and some believe that his policies indicate he is the last pope before Christ returns

Yet Francis remains firm.

"The goods of the earth are meant for everyone, and however much someone may parade his property, it has a social mortgage," Francis said. "The tapping of natural resources, which are so abundant in Ecuador, must not be concerned with short-term benefits."
